Olema (prayers)

Prayers are a very important part of the etsakọ culture and there are prayers for almost every situation.

The response to a prayer is isẹẹ which means may it be so or may it hit the mark.

Eguma mẹ e ka mila mẹ w'obọ ẹ, [gu na vhẹ] khi mi chi mama vhẹ. Olema n'Ọfiolema ọ fi, mi laa sọ wọ. Tirali ona, e sọ mẹ wọ, e nyielama mẹ (e zẹ imani shi mẹ egbe) e kẹ yafi.

When my servants ask you about Me then I am close. I answer the call of  the caller when he calls upon me. So let them answer me and believe in me so that they may be successful.
